Privacy policy

Which information Kurd Network keeps about shops and about people who request a trial, where it is stored, for how long, and what the optional Google Drive connection can see.

Kurd Network is a cloud point-of-sale (POS) and shop management service, built and managed by THEORIST. This policy explains in plain words which information we keep, why, where it is stored, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

Kurd Network (kurd.network) is built and managed by THEORIST. In this policy, “we” means Kurd Network. How to reach us is at the end of this page.

What information we keep

Which information we keep depends on how you use Kurd Network:

  • Each shop's business data, entered by the shop itself: products, prices and costs, sales, customers with their phone numbers and debts, and the shop's staff accounts.
  • Sign-in data: what is needed to let the shop's staff sign in and stay signed in.
  • Technical logs: short records our servers keep to run the service, keep it safe and find errors.
  • Trial requests: when you send the “Request a free trial” form, we keep your name, phone number, shop name and city, and the kind of shop and your message if you write them. To stop spam we keep only a scrambled code made from the sender's internet (IP) address, which cannot be turned back into the address. When we have switched it on, a new request also reaches us as a Telegram message, so we can call you sooner.

How we use it

We use this information only to provide Kurd Network: to run each shop's system, keep it safe, back it up, answer questions and trial requests, and collect the monthly subscription.

  • We do not sell any data.
  • We do not show ads.
  • We do not use tracking cookies or advertising trackers.

Cookies

Kurd Network uses only the cookies it needs to work: to keep you signed in, and to remember your language and screen layout. There are no tracking or advertising cookies.

Where it is stored and how it is protected

  • Kurd Network runs on a server in Germany, rented from netcup. Cloudflare stands in front of the website to protect it and keep it fast.
  • Every night an encrypted backup copy of the database is made and kept in Cloudflare R2, and the owner of Kurd Network keeps one more copy.
  • Each shop's data is kept separate from every other shop's data: the staff of one shop never see another shop's data.

Your shop's data is yours

  • Each shop owns its data, and can download a full backup at any time in Settings → Backup.
  • When a shop leaves Kurd Network, it can ask us to delete its data.
  • If you have a question about your information, contact us.

How long we keep it

  • A shop's data is kept while its account is active, and for up to 90 days after the account ends, unless the shop asks us to delete it sooner.
  • The nightly backup copies of the database are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Telegram alerts

Kurd Network sends messages to Telegram only when a user connects their own Telegram in the app. Those messages then travel through Telegram.

The Kurd Network app (iPhone and iPad)

The app shows the same shop system, with the same rules. On a phone or tablet it can also use:

  • **Camera:** to scan barcodes and to take a product or delivery photo. A picture is sent only when you save it.
  • **Photos:** only the picture you choose for a product, a logo, a letter or a delivery.
  • **Notifications:** only the alerts you turn on yourself (Settings → Alerts, or On duty for drivers). We keep the phone's notification address until you turn them off, sign out or remove the app.
  • **Location, for delivery drivers only:** when a shop's driver turns "On duty" on, the app shares the phone's location with that driver's own shop, also while the screen is off, so the shop can follow its deliveries and the driver can navigate. The phone shows its location indicator while this runs, and it stops when the driver goes off duty. Staff who are not drivers never share their location. The route history of a delivery is deleted after 30 days; only the driver's last known position is kept.
  • **Face ID:** only to unlock the app on your own phone. We never receive it.
  • **Error reports:** when the app has a problem, it sends a short technical report to our own error tracker on our server in Germany, without names, emails or phone numbers.
  • **Maps:** map pictures come from Apple Maps and OpenFreeMap; road routes and place search run on our own server.

Google Drive backups (optional)

A shop can choose to connect its own Google Drive, so that Kurd Network puts the shop's backups there. If you connect it:

  • Kurd Network asks Google only for the drive.file permission. With it, Kurd Network can see and manage only the backup files it creates itself in your Drive. It can never see, open or change any other file in your Drive.
  • From your Google account, Kurd Network reads only its email address, to show which account is connected, and Google's id for that account, to recognise the same account when you connect again (the backups then go into the same folder).
  • Kurd Network's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
  • You can remove this access at any time: in Kurd Network in Settings → Backup, or in your Google account at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Children

Kurd Network is a service for shops and their staff. It is not meant for children.
